Dueber-Rockford 1868 key wind
View 867 x 1179 (0.37Mbytes)
This is an antique pocket watch made and marked by the Rockford Watch Company of Rockford, Illinois. It has a Model 1, 18 Size, key wind and set movement with a low serial number of 96776. The case is made of solid Coin Silver with Silver caps, Gold joints, and Gold crowns. The 4-ounce weight is designated by the number 4 in the shield on the inner lid. The watch measures 2-1/4" in diameter; 3-1/2" high to the top of the ring; and, is 13/16" thick. The key fits both the winding mechanism on the movement and the time set on the porcelain dial face. We are also including the handsome blown glass and Black Walnut display case that is pictured in the gallery photo. The watch is clean and runs perfectly keeping excellent time. There are no dents, bends, gouges, deformations, corrosion, monograms, or repairs. There is just some light wear and a small flake on the side of the original crystal. Note: very unusual to set on the face.

Eardley 18th century Verge
View More
Incomplete, 18th century verge fusee by Eardley Norton, London. The watch originally had an outer case, which is missing. The white enamel dial with Arabic numerals is in good condition, with a few scratches. The hands are missing. The gilt full plate movement fetures beautiful piercing and engraving, Tompion regulator, baluster form pillars, and worm and wheel setup. The movement is complete and the watch will run, but the great wheel is missing 5 teeth - this could be repaired. The motion work is present. The movement is signed Eardley Norton St. Jno. St. London, and is numbered 291. The case is in good condition, with evidence of wear, and one small dent at the bottom. The pendant may be replaced, but the bow looks correct. The high dome bullseye crystal shows scratches and abrasions from use. The case has hallmarks, but they are faint - the London mark and the sterling mark are readable under magnification, but the date letter is not. The case also bears the makers mark WM. The rococo style engraving and pierced cock foot would seem to suggest a date in the third quarter of the 18th century. The worm and wheel setup for the mainspring is also a feature associated with earlier watches. Norton was working in London from 1760 to 1794. He was a well known maker of musical and astronomical clocks and watches, and held patents for sriking work for clocks, and repeating work for watches. He manufactured an astronomical clock for George III, a musical clock for the Empress Catherine, and many other complicated clocks and watches for prominent persons of the day.

Fusee Ante 1848
View More
This is an old fusee pocket watch that runs and seem to keep time.. It is in good condition and has a silver case.. Very bright movement. Dial has a small chip by the hole for the winding key. Back of case has an inscription for C. Scharnhe Oct 1848.. I believe that the watch is older than that but that is just an opinion.. High glass crystal with the flat spot in the middle.. a winding key will be included with the watch.
