This is an antique pocket watch made and marked by the Rockford Watch Company of Rockford, Illinois. It has a Model 1, 18 Size, key wind and set movement with a low serial number of 96776. The case is made of solid Coin Silver with Silver caps, Gold joints, and Gold crowns. The 4-ounce weight is designated by the number 4 in the shield on the inner lid. The watch measures 2-1/4" in diameter; 3-1/2" high to the top of the ring; and, is 13/16" thick. The key fits both the winding mechanism on the movement and the time set on the porcelain dial face. We are also including the handsome blown glass and Black Walnut display case that is pictured in the gallery photo.
The watch is clean and runs perfectly keeping excellent time. There are no dents, bends, gouges, deformations, corrosion, monograms, or repairs. There is just some light wear and a small flake on the side of the original crystal.
Note: very unusual to set on the face.
