Small size with a San Francisco A.J. Plate dealer marking on the barrel. Overall length of 5" with a 2" round barrel with top flat. Breechplug is stamped on top "SLOTTER/&Co PHILa." Top flat of the barrel is marked "MADE FOR/AJ PLATE/SAN FRANCISCO." Part of the AJ Plate marking is worn smooth but the rest is legible. Upper right side of the barrel is stamped "WART/STEEL." Barrel coloration is dull gray and smooth with no pitting. Light engraving is present on the breechplug. Scroll engraving is present on the breechplug tang along with a notched integral rear sight. Small brass blade front sight is present on the barrel. Bore of the barrel is approximately .42 caliber. Stock is of walnut and extends to the muzzle of the barrel. No provision for ramrod is provided. Stock is nicely checkered on the grip area with moderate wear to that checkering. German silver furniture comprises the buttcap, triggerguard, triggerplate, barrel wedge inlays, tiny nosecap inlay, bolster inlay, shield inlay on the wrist and sidelock screw escutcheon. Light engraving is present on all of these parts except the small nosecap has no engraving. Back action lockplate is engraved and marked with the manufacturer's name "SLOTTER/&Co PHILa." Lock works well. Coloration of the lockplate and hammer is light gray. Hammer spur has been broken and repaired and does not match original profile exactly.
