Overall length of 9 3/4". The octagonal barrel is 4 3/4" long and attached to the stock by a single barrel key and a hook style breech. Two platinum bands are inlaid on the barrel at the breech. Top of the barrel is engraved "LONDON" and it has some faint simple twist pattern remaining. Rifled bore is approximately .45 caliber. Small blade front sight and rear sight mounted on the hook breech tang. Short underrib is present under the barrel with a single small steel thimble. Original ramrod is present. Stock is of walnut and has an unusual saw-handled shape with almost a 90 degree angle. Checkering is present on the grip area and is moderately worn. Stock is otherwise in fine condition with much of the original finish. German silver oval escutcheon is present on the top of the saw-handle just behind the tang. Other German silver furniture comprises the capbox on the butt, triggerguard, nosecap/entry thimble, oval barrel key escutcheons and an unusual sidelock screw escutcheon. Excellent engraving is present on most of these parts and it shows only light wear. Front action lock is marked "L.W.BAILEY." Lock is well made with sharp engraving present.
