A Recent Encounter
Prof. Dodge was recently accosted during his perambulations of Old Sacramento by a woman who had a phrenology reading done of her head during Gold Rush Days, who complained that her boyfriend broke up with her after learning that the good Professor had recorded her Amativeness as a '2' (below average). Prof. Dodge was obliged to explain to the distraught woman that this rating of her propensity for amorous relations with the opposite sex merely delineated the possibilities that she had in this regard to her interest in physical desire, but that since she had acted upon it by informing her paramour and thus precipitating his decision to break off their relationship, it thereby proved the veracity of his interpretation. The woman left in a decided condition of apoplexy. - Ken Knott

Sold Out Ghost Tours Got Rave Review
A gentleman taking photos caught my eye during the last of the Ghost Tours on Saturday evening, Oct. 23rd. As Professor Flatbroke B. Dodge, I pulled open the curtains to reveal the head of Joaquin Murieta in a jar, the audience let out an audible gasp and the flash from a camera went off, momentarily blinding me. It was Dan Dullum, staff writer for the Senior Spectrum, and you may read his review of the OSLHP Ghost Tours in the October 26th issue featuring Ruth Chambers on the cover, available select newsstands in Sacramento.

The Ghost Tours were a smashing success for OSLHP, and the credit goes to the many members who volunteered to participate by playing roles, guiding the tours, and providing tour escort service.

A thousand thank-you's to Jan Bullard for developing the scripts, organizing the tours, and being a Guide, to Amy Whitlatch for being a Guide and participating as Rosita Murieta & the Bordello Madam, as well as providing sustenance and refreshments, Greg Tracy, as Guide and Sheriff McKinney, Mel Picanco as Escort, Mary Carlson as Mother Baldwin, Terry Eargle as Rosita Murieta, Ray Eargle as the Prisoner & Sheriff McKinney, Penny Adams as Mother Baldwin & Escort, Eileen Carey as the Firebug, Karen Leni as the Firebug & Mother Baldwin, Shelly Green as the Bordello Madam, Terry Melau as Sheriff McKinney, Jane Sianez as Rosita Murieta, Frank & Ashley Sianez as Escorts, and new members David Marquette as Judge E.B. Crocker, Issac Moll as the Nose Man & Escort, and Dana Gonsales as Sheriff Mckinley.

I would also like to personally thank Ray Eargle, Mark Hobbs, Joe Carrasco, and Jason Hollingsworth for their stellar performances as the Head of Joaquin. Ken Knott, V.P.

Ghost Tours Recap
I would like to announce that gross proceeds for Ghost Tours exceeded $8700, we did 22 tours and had 600 guests. After expenses we raised $6,279.93 for OSLHP. Our biggest expense is paying for the time of the people at the visitor's center who took all the reservations, calls and payments, in addition to staying open late hours to assist.

ONGOING EVENTS

Walking Tours
While the public tours ended Sept. 29, school tours and tours by reservation will continue throughout the year. Also, Reserve America will be taking reservations for school tours, Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 1 through November 30.
